This, at least, is according to Mercer. Mercer’s survey covers 143 cities across six continents and measures the comparative cost of over 200 items in each location, including housing, transport, food, clothing, household goods and entertainment. It is the world’s most comprehensive cost of living survey. So for people who does not have the abundance of money, you may want to stay away from the cities listed below.

Mercer’s study is also very good way for expatriates to assess if they are being compensated well. According to the survey’s objective, the survey is used to help multinational companies and governments determine compensation allowances for their expatriate employees. So, now if you are working in cities like Moscow, Tokyo, London, Oslo, or Seoul and your getting compensation slightly higher only in your native country- then its high time for you to ship out and go!
